Dr Mure Agbonlahor is Senior agricultural economist at the African Union Commission (AUC). He is attached to the African Union’ Specialized Technical Office (STO) for Semi-Arid Food Grains Research and Development (SAFGRAD), Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He coordinates regional and national domestication and implementation of African Union’ agrifood systems development strategies and frameworks related to climate smart technologies and inclusive agricultural value chains development. Dr Agbonlahor also coordinates the AU’ training program on scaling climate smart agricultural technologies in Africa. The training targets early career agriculture and water engineers and its aim is to bridge the capacity gaps in the design, implementation and maintenance of solutions to build climate resilient agricultural livelihoods. Before joining the African Union Commission, Dr Agbonlahor worked as a University teacher and researcher in agricultural and development economics at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria.
