The Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute conducts and supports research and engages in projects to develop innovative solutions for achieving water and food security at home in Nebraska and around the world.
Through the work of our staff, faculty, students and many partners, we are finding ways to help farmers achieve better yields, use water more effectively, protect our water for human health and adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change.

Nebraska + Regional
Nebraska has one of the most progressive and prosperous agricultural industries in the world thanks to plentiful natural resources, the ingenuity and hard work of our farmers and the research leadership of the University of Nebraska.

Global + National
Every day, nearly a billion people in the world are food-insecure, without enough safe and nutritious food to lead healthy and active lives. Many of them are also water-insecure, without reliable access to an adequate amount of clean water to meet their needs.
