Shunkei Kakimoto is an M.S. student in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before that, he graduated with a B.S. in agricultural economics from Hokkaido University in Japan. Shunkei works with Faculty Fellow Taro Mieno and staff from both DWFI and the National Drought Mitigation Center. He is particularly interested in analyzing dynamic agriculture-climate-environment interactions and doing research to optimize water and other input use to increase sustainability and profitability of agriculture.
