Hank M. Bounds began his tenure as University of Nebraska president in 2015, bringing to the position 25 years of experience in education. Bounds leads the university’s four campuses as its chief executive officer and is responsible for university administration, operation and implementation of the policies and goals of the Board of Regents. He works closely with the university’s campus chancellors and vice presidents. He also provides educational leadership, direction and strategy to the university.
Bounds holds faculty appointments in the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and in the Colleges of Education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He also serves on the National Association of System Heads board of directors. Bounds holds a doctorate from the University of Mississippi and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi.
