Ellen Emanuel joined the Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute in January 2018. Originally from Gretna, Nebraska, Emanuel is interested in complex water management challenges, and focuses her efforts on examining entrepreneurship opportunities in agriculture, and the interaction of the water and energy sectors within agriculture and the food production industry.
Emanuel earned a master’s degree in biological systems engineering from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her graduate research investigated the techno-economics of lignocellulosic ethanol production. Emanuel served as an intern for DWFI while she finished her graduate degree. She previously worked as an intern for Nebraska’s technology transfer office, NUtech Ventures, where she evaluated new technology disclosures for intellectual property potential.
