Christian Curtis is a senior student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, studying natural resource and environmental economics with a dual minor in agricultural economics and fisheries and wildlife. He joined the Daughtery Global Water for Food Institute as an intern in spring 2026. During his spring internship, Christian is compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing data to provide stakeholders with a clearer understanding of agricultural water use and policy across the United States.
Christian’s academic and professional interests center on sustainable water
use, resource management, and the intersection of science and public policy. His
coursework has focused on the economic, ecological, and institutional dimensions of natural resource use, particularly in agricultural and environmental contexts.
In addition to his academic work, Christian has volunteered and worked on a variety of local political campaigns focusing on sustainable resource practices and expanding access to natural resources. He hopes to pursue a career in public service or advocacy focused on science-based water and environmental policy and agricultural trade.
