Onsite Poster Competition

Nebraska-Corn-Board

 

Thanks to the Nebraska Corn Board for sponsoring the 2014 Water for Food Conference Poster Competition.

Graduate Students! To recognize current research focused on “Harnessing the Data Revolution to Ensure Water and Food Security from Field to Global Scales,” we are calling for posters in the following categories:

  • Data from field to global scales
  • Yield gaps and water productivity
  • Innovations in data systems
  • Data to better understand climate systems
  • Water, Food and Health
  • Economic and policy dimensions of Water for Food
  • General topics related to Water for Food

Abstract Deadline: September 15, 2014

Submitting an Abstract

Abstracts (up to 250 words) are due September 15 and must be accepted for the competition. The Conference Poster Committee will review the abstracts and notify presenters of their acceptance by email by September 22. If accepted, the poster must be turned in at the conference registration desk by noon on October 20, 2014.

On-site Poster Submission Guidelines

Poster Format

  • Maximum poster size is 46″ w x 34″ h – landscape orientation only.
  • Do not use less than 18 point font for any text you mount.

Awards

Scholarly Competition - Graduate students who have had their abstracts accepted and have registered for and are attending the Water for Food Conference are invited to present their posters at the conference and participate in the Scholarly poster competition. Prize winners are determined by academic judging at the conference.

  • First Place: $1500 cash
  • Second Place: $1000 cash
  • Third Place: $750 cash

Viewers’ Choice Competition – Graduate students who have had their abstracts accepted and have registered for and are attending the Water for Food Conference are invited to present their posters at the conference and participate in the Viewers’ Choice poster competition. Prize winners are determined by a ballot of conference participants. Viewers’ Choice prizes are:

  • Viewers’ Choice Winner: $1000 cash
  • Viewers’ Choice Honorable Mention: $750 cash
