Jenny Dauer
Jenny Dauer is a researcher in the area of Discipline-Based Science Education Research (DBER), and her research interests are students' understanding of complex biological and earth systems, and science literacy. Her research is used to inform educators of improved teaching strategies by focusing on undergraduate students' science literacy, or their use of science in every-day lives, and how to improve science literacy through science classroom learning. Dauer is investigating how students find, evaluate, understand and apply scientific evidence and make decisions about complex socioscientific issues, including water conservation in Nebraska.
