Erin Haacker

Erin Haacker's research expertise includes groundwater modeling, data science, and integration of models from across agricultural water systems. Her work in the UNL Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences focused on water supply in the High Plains Aquifer, for which she received tenure in 2025. She is interested in applications of models and spatiotemporal data to pressing problems in groundwater-dependent agroecosystems. She holds a PhD in Environmental Geosciences from Michigan State University with certifications in Environmental Science and Policy and Modeling Environmental and Social Systems, and was a postdoctoral researcher in the Nebraska Water Center.
