Rena Jones is a Senior Investigator in the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics at the U.S. National Cancer Institute, where she chairs the Geospatial Analysis Working Group. Her intramural research program seeks to clarify the role of environmental exposures in the development of cancer through large-scale, multidisciplinary epidemiologic studies. She incorporates novel methodology to characterize long-term population exposures in these investigations by leveraging information from surveys, regulatory and biological monitoring data, and geo-referenced datasets. Her drinking water research has emphasized studies in rural and agricultural populations and includes both regulated and emergent contaminants of concern. Dr. Jones is an Associate Editor of the journal Environmental Health Perspectives and an adjunct faculty member in the Department Environmental Health Sciences at the Yale School of Public Health. She received her MS and PhD degrees in epidemiology from the University at Albany, State University of New York.
