Dr. Quintana is the water economist for the National Center for Alluvial Aquifer Research and an Assistant Research Professor at Mississippi State University. He focuses on improving academic and stakeholder understanding of the economic factors that drive the decline of an aquifer in an area with abundant precipitation and surface water sources. He has been a researcher at the University of Wyoming in Laramie and at the World Bank in Washington, DC. He earned his Ph.D. at Kansas State University where he worked on topics related to optimal extraction paths for a declining aquifer.
