Daniel Osgood leads the Financial Instruments Division in the National Center for Disaster Preparedness (NCDP) and is affiliated with the International Research Institute for Climate and Society, both within Columbia University's Climate School. He has a UC Berkeley agricultural economics PhD. His team supports forecast based action in nearly a dozen countries and dozens of insurance projects for millions of smallholder farmers built with science-based digitalized cogeneration. Projects he supports have been highlighted in Ban Ki-moon's Paris COP opening speech. His press spans the Voice of America, Al Jazeera, the Guardian, Nature, and the New York Times.
