Abbie Raikes, PhD., MPH, is a professor at the College of Public Health, University of Nebraska Medical Center and Director, Center for Global Health and Development. Dr. Raikes' recent work has focused on improving early childhood programs and policies to support healthy child development. Previously, Abbie contributed to early childhood policy development in several countries as a program specialist for the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) in Paris and served as a senior program officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
