Visiting Research Scholar
Eder Duarte Fanaya, Jr. is an agronomist and visiting PhD student from University of Sao Paulo (ESALQ/USP) in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is working with Director of Research Christopher Neale through July 2017 on localized irrigation research.
Fanaya’s research focuses on determining the evapotranspiration and performance of fertirrigation with vinasse in oil palm. During his time at the institute, he is specifically working to detect the energy balance and evapotranspiration components oil palm in tropical regions.
Fanaya holds a master’s degree in crop production from the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS). He expects to complete his doctorate in agricultural systems engineering in October 2017.
