LINCOLN, Neb. – The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) presented its 2013 Omtvedt Innovation Award to a group of individuals who were instrumental in the early development of the Daugherty Water for Food Institute at the University of Nebraska. The award was presented to the group by Ronnie Green, University of Nebraska vice president and Harlan vice chancellor for IANR, during the All Hands Meeting Sept. 6 at the East Campus Union.
Congratulations to the following individuals for their exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the Water for Food Institute:
• Ron Yoder, associate vice chancellor of UNL’s IANR
• Dean Eisenhauer, UNL professor of Biological Systems Engineering
• Derrel L. Martin, UNL professor of Biological Systems Engineering and extension specialist in Irrigation and Water Resources Engineering
• Suat Irmak, UNL Harold W. Eberhard Distinguished professor of Biological Systems Engineering
This award was made possible through the generosity of Leone Harlan and her late husband, Neal, in honor of Dr. Irv Omtvedt and his distinguished career at the University of Nebraska.
